I don't really think there's a right or wrong answer. I'm of the opinion that he doesn't need to be out there risking injury. I would prefer he just hit season ready to go. Let him get his reps in practice.

Yes, of course he could get hurt, just like any other player. But the coaches need to evaluate if their fundamental plays are going to work with the first string guys during the pre-season. Pre-season is a real part of getting ready for the regular season. Even Peyton Manning plays in pre-season and it is important enough that they may even play him
THIS pre-season.
Playing starters in pre-season is not a unique concept. CP needs to stop acting like he is above it. I don't mind him privately hating it. I'm sure I would too. BUT, he shouldn't act like pre-season shouldn't apply to him. I want guys who are always hungry to play football and the coach has to hold them back... Like Rock or Thrash or even Tom Brady or Brett Favre. Have an attitude and love the game!
