Re: (updated title): Make Your Day One Redskins Draft Selections (Rounds 1-2)
After Further review, my first three picks are as follows:
1st ROund:
1a. Calais Campbell, DE, Miami - Can play DE on 1st & 2nd downs and DT in ideal 3rd down passing downs
1b. Quentin Groves, DE/OLB, Auburn - Can be a pass rush specialist for us, and he would be the fastest OLB in the draft if that were his primary position. So if Rocky regresses, he can step in
1c. Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, CB, TSU - Shutdown corner with all the attributes. Kicked @ss at the senior bowl
2nd Round:
2a. Brandon Flowers, CB, VT - Someone here put me on to him, and he is a beast. The most physical corner in the draft and has superior man cover skills
2b. Jordy Nelson, WR/KR, Kansas State - This is a reach right now, but after the combine, it wont look like one. He can catch, block, return kicks, play special teams, and he can throw the pill. A former HS QB, he was moved to safety as a walk on, then moved to WR. He stayed there and had a monster senior campaign. He went 122-1,606-11 in his senior year, averaged 155.1 all-purpose yards, and never had a game with less that 80 yds receviing.
As a former walk on he has all the intangibles to be a great Redskin, work ethic included.
