Re: Sean Taylor Shot in the Thigh: CNN News

My father served in Vietnam in the 60s. He once saw a soldier get shot in the groin, ruptured his femoral artery (like Sean) and he bled to death in less than 1-2 minutes. My dad said blood was just shooting out of the poor guy in great spurts. There was nothing anyone could do to save him. It being wartime, the round was probably pretty high-caliber compared to whatever the would-be burglars were using, but if Sean got hit there, he probably bled out fairly quickly. Then how long did it take to get him to the hospital -- an hour, maybe 45 minutes? That's a long time for his brain to be without oxygen. This just doesn't look good to me but I hope I'm wrong. My thoughts and prayers are with Sean Taylor and his family. Life is short and tragic events happen quickly. Let's all be thankful for our own brief and fragile lives, and for those of our loved ones today.
