I don't think Gibbs looked like an idiot. I think he was standing up for his guys and he was also putting the press in it's place. La Canfora doesn't even get to watch practice, except for stretching. He's such an insider that he has to go to other teams to find sources. I like the fact that he took on the press in this case. It could lead to greater team unity. Gibbs is trying to get his team ready to play. Part of that is psychological. If he can use this as a tool to fire people up, then I say well done.
