Granted, neither Lloyd nor El put up stellar numbers but a.) we were dealing with a new offense that everyone admits takes a year to learn and b.) Jason Campbell was for all intents and purposes a rookie when he played in the back half of the season.

CJ is great, no question about that. But why do we want to just give up on our current receivers-especially two guys we just spent big on just last year-after only one season in a new offense with a young quarterback. Why not let them grow together?

If you want to tear that unit up then fine, but it's hard to listen then when you turn right around and talk about how we have no patience as a front office, and we need to develop our players and so forth. (and when I say "you" I'm addressing the universal "you")
While I'm personally against the trade (even though I hear "Calvin Johnson breaks the TD record and the redskins win the superbowl!" uncontrollably in my head) I think we should probably show the door to Brandon Lloyd.

I think here is a case where we took a chance on a guy. We said, hey, this guy put up some decent numbers with a fairly mediocre QB throwing to him, seems not to be fitting in there, but we've got a lot of characters on our team. I mean look at portis, he's frickin insane. So yeah... maybe we'll be able to get more of those crazy diving catches on a regular basis.

Problem is A) We were wrong about his attitude. This isn't some unique personality, he's just a big whiny baby. He acts like his shit doesn't stink, while everyone can smell him for miles.

and B) He really isn't that good. Now I'm basing this off of my "gut" feeling, but I tend to think pound for pound ARE made a bigger impact on this team. Using statistics to defend your argument either way won't work, because of the situation of our offense, but I really think he's useless.

I've heard the "Let the WR's gel together" argument, but I don't want the chance of our offense "gelling" and mid-season we have a mental breakdown, while throwing off the chemistry and rhythm of the season. I think we should axe Lloyd(who knows maybe try to get a 6 rnd pick for him), and either pick up a vet receiver or give Mike Espy a shot.

I've gone from not sold on Lloyd, to irritated, to sold on throwing him over board. I am fickle, I know.
