Re: Rumor: Nate Clements to 49ers.

As to Thomas, I think someone is going to seriously overpay for this guy. He's been around for a while and it was only this year that he came up big. Don't get me wrong, I think the guy has talent BUT I also think that Baltimore's D Coordinator (Rex "son of buddy" Ryan) was very creative in their use of him.

He is not a plug-and-play guy. He needs a scheme that lets him have a lot of options in how to play. You stick him in as a traditional LB or DE, he is nothing special (Baltimore did both of those things - he was good but not superstar good). With that said, a creative D-coordinator could have a lot of fun with this guy. If I was him, I would've been headed to Boston so fast it would have made your head spin. If the Pats were anywhere close in terms of money - I would have accepted less to play on Belichecks D.

Completely off topic - With salaries and SB's so high, you would think a few of these players would think quality of life issues in making their decisions. I mean, really, how much money do you need? If its between signing with a loser for 20M and a winner for 15M - I go with the winner every time. But hey, that's just me. Since it is unlikely I will ever be confronted with two such offers, I am fairly certain I shall never have to face such a dilemma.
