The long term solution is to stop mortaging our draft picks for such players and focus on the draft, a la almost every other succesful team ever (maybe not the 94 Niners). But there is no way we can enter next season with Springs, Rogers, and Proileau (as usual too lazy to spell check) as our starters. Unless we are willing to give up on next season as a rebuilding year - which is pointless because we don't have any young talent to develop, and because Gibbs is nearing the end of the line, and irrelevant anyway bc they are not going to do that - we need to do something to shore up our secondary. So given that we gotta overpay somebody, may as well bring in whoever has the best chance to make an impact.
