It still doesn't change the fact that he was speaking of Coy growing a beard as to why he left to be with family.
But I guess I can see where people would think he was "with family" since he was with J.D. It's a weak argument at best though. There was much more to his family than just J.D. At least I can see your point though.

Sorry, but I don't see how Coach Gibbs relating one story about his son equates to being his main reason for leaving. His medical issues played a huge part as well. He was having alot of problems due to lack of sleep and having persistent headaches and pain in his arms. After his diagnosis, he knew he couldn't continue as he had been. As far as his family goes, he began questioning the amount of time he was spending with them three years prior to his retirement when his own father passed away, at which point his father apologized to him on his deathbed for not being there for them as he should have been. Also, at that point in his career, he had been coaching for 25 years. He gave it all he had and had nothing left to prove. I just don't think you can find fault in him, whatever his reasons were, considering what he gave up for this team and its fans. The fact that he's chosen to do it all over again speaks volumns as to his character and his devotion to this organization.
