Brian Mitchell would be your best chance to argue for Randle El. Brian Mitchell was an outstanding return guy and 3rd down back who seemed to be that extra wrinkle that made the Skins so dominant in 1991. I haven't looked up the stats, but is Randle El even a middle-of-the-pack return guy? He seems subpar at best. Mitchell was a rare player who seemed to have no specific role but made huge contributions to the Redskins over the years. I'm not sure even HE would warrant such outstanding compensation, though.

And many of you are just too willing to look past what the Redskins got for what the Redskins paid. For $5M bonus and $16M? Ok, maybe. But Randle El got paid #1 WR money. Look down the list of the top 30 NFL receivers and tell me you will ever find his name on it? Randle El is the wideout equivalent to the former Rams Az Hakim, not Torry Holt.
