It is called getting value out their pick. They drafted a guy who was not worthy of the first pick with the first pick. That is how you don't do it. You trade back and get some value. If they need defense help anyways Hawk is a safer bet. I gurantee they could have traded to 4 and picked Hawk. The market deteremines what a pick kis worth and they misspent theirs.

From what I heard, almost every team had Bush and Williams 1 and 2 in some order, so I'm not so sure most people in the NFL would agree that Williams was only above average.
I'll agree with you that they should have traded out of the pick, but you don't really know who they would have traded with. If it's the Saints, how much are they really going to get? If you trade with anyone other than the Saints, how do you know that the Saints won't pick Williams at #2? Then you don't have Bush, and you don't have Williams. I suppose they could still take Brick (which, I would actually call a great move if they were able to trade down to 4 and get him), but if you're really sold on Williams (as a lot of teams were), then you have to get your guy. At the end of the day, I don't think we can criticize all that much for the Texans taking a player maybe one position ahead of where he was projected.
