Re: Brett Favre Decision

Hey you guys are forgetting a few things. First of all the Brett Farve has recently experienced the following:

1. The death of his father
2. The death of his brother in law on his property in some sort of ATV accident
3. His wife being diagnosed with Brest Cancer
4. His family became stranded by Katrina with no power for weeks. He also lost his childhood home.

and finally
5. The last bastian of pleasure and joy he had left in his life, the Green Bay Packers, have gone from automatic NFC North Champs to Bottom Dwellers.

Plus lets not forget the fact that before he was drafted he got in a career threatining car accident. The fact that he has become the NFL's ironman, painkillers or not, with an injury that made docs advise him to hang up his cleats might make him comprable to my childhood hero Cal Ripken.

Bret Farve has been through a lot of shit in his life. And for a bunch of people to just pile on and say stuff like well hes rich and this happened to me is bull. Hes never asked for sympathy and everytime somethings challenged him hes toughed it out. The only reason it recieves so much attention is because hes Bret Farve, NFL Legend for the leagues most storied franchise (in the medias eyes) not because he gets up on the podium at press confrences and cries like a little bitch.
