ESPN is reporting that an extension may be reached soon. The story says that Upshaw may allow free agency to be delayed one week if the salary cap extension provided teams with higher salary cap figures for 2006.

This could be good news. First, we'll have an extension which will allow us to renegotiate deals and covert salaries into signing bonuses. Second, if it pushes the cap figure up, we of course will benefit.
