He's a union boss so he doesn't have any "face" to save.....His job is to say whatever benefits his membership the most. He'd like the deal now because the % of DGR actually drops in the final capped year so his union is getting a 1% smaller piece of the pie than last year

And it would make things easier for FA's but I highly doubt they would abandon a system which has increased the amount spent per team from about 30M in 93 to 85M in 05. The cap has been very very good to players.
