Re: Rank the Needs of the Team

Great thread Chico because I think there's an intriguing debate about the top two you listed: what's a bigger need, edge defender or offensive line specifically tackles?

For me I think specifically about what the challenges our biggest NFC competition presents, the Eagles and the Lions, and they both feature very big and athletic offensive lines that can kill you on the edges if you don't have somebody there that can put up a fight and hold the line.

I didn't at all enjoy how our running game completely stalled late in the season and yeah we could absolutely use more push, and I think they'll invest. But I'd argue that we still managed to be a top 10 offense with a mediocre offensive line. Meanwhile our defense got blasted by the Eagles in the playoffs, and looked vulnerable against Jahmyr Gibbs on the edges before saving the day with a bunch of interceptions.

What can I count on occurring again: Jayden Daniels making our line look better than it is, or our defense coming up with 4 INTs to get us past a team like the Lions? I'll bet on Jayden and put more resources into the defensive edges. I'd argue that edge defender is the biggest priority.
