Why would liberals care about deportation numbers not being enough? I thought they wanted open borders so the less numbers the better right?

But ice is now back on the job, the southern border is back up and running with policies back which Trump previously saw the lowest numbers in 35 years his first term.
Things will improve as they did previously on illegal immigration under Trump.

But ICE has always been back on the job. Biden deported more people in his 4 years than Trump did in his first four. That couldn't be possible unless ICE was doing its job. Right? Now if you want to say Trump was better on the border than Biden, then sure, that's a fair statement and probably an accurate one (despite the deportation numbers).
Also, that lowest numbers in 35 years you speak of? You know what that's from right? It's from a hawkish 8 years of Obama on immigration. You do realize that Obama has deported more people from America than ANY other President in history. So much in fact, he garnered the nickname of Deporter in Chief. In fact, Trump's border czar once worked under Obama.
A good read.

Look, you can already see city/state budgets such as all of California, Denver, Chicago, New York City and Fairfax County Va suffering from the millions they spent previous years on housing, education, medical, etc. from taking care of illegals. Don’t expect the federal government to bail them out.
Those citizens will suffer, many in minority communities from services cut and higher taxes….like always. So they can enjoy what they voted for.

You are right about this aspect. Even in Chicago, residents pushed back against the Mayor on this very subject.
