Exactly. Things were probably a bit different back in the day when a pro salary was usually NOT a key to becoming wealthy and the media was primitive compared to now.
In a way, Dwayne was bit like Tim Robbins' character in Bull Durham. Decent talent, but with the quest for "fun" that young men almost always have in abundance. And maybe Mike Tomlin was his "Crash" and would have steered him towards a respectable career.
