The defense did what it is supposed to do in preseason- stuff the offense in front of them without complex scheming. Beat the match up man on man and make individual plays. There were a bunch of stellar plays by individuals.
The 1st team offense did not do what it is supposed to do, which is not turn the ball over, convert 4th and 1s, put the ball in the endzone. The plays were there but the team, and Fitz, missed them.
Can the offense correct it and be explosive come week 1? Absolutely. Is the offense ahead of the defense and clicking on all cylinders? Definitely not.
