It doesn't appear that Haskins is the future either. We'll see how it goes down the stretch, but my guess is as long as they are in the division race, we won't see Haskins - unless there's another QB injury

The only way to properly develop and evaluate this young roster is to put in the QB that gives you the best chance to do that, AND gives you the best chance to win. That is Alex Smith at this point.
Also, I know A Smith's contract isn't all that team friendly over the next two years, but I wouldn't write him off just yet.
