LOL! Elliot is a DC-based "shock-jock", and his morning radio show tends to lean toward "Springer"-esque material. He makes no bones about the fact that his show is pretty trashy, and that's actually what many fans find so endearing about him. As far as him sounding like a dingbat in the interview-- that's just him trying to be goofy. He's done a lot of great interviews with other Redskins, like Fred Smoot, Brandon Noble and a few others who really play along with his silliness, but Portis just seemed to not really get his sense of humor, or didn't feel like playing along with him.
I listen to Elliot every morning, and love him, but I'm sure there are a lot of people out there who find him annoying. He doesn't really care. He has people calling in and bashing him, and he loves it. One mother, who was enraged when Elliot announced that "The Wiggles are dead," called in and said, "You're an idiot! You're a worthless piece of s%@#!" Elliot's reponse: "Yes I am."
