I bought my PS4 the week of Thanksgiving when it was released, haven't had any major issues and I leave it on all the time, never turn it off. Only issue I have from time to time is the controller won't work with the system.
It will be plugged in but when I hit any of the buttons it doesn't do anything, then I have to unplug the console and restart and it works fine. Doesn't happen often, but is annoying as shit when it does.
Sure there are less titles at a launch, but they usually have a few that I play regularly, so it gets me by until the games start getting cranked out.
I have always bought both consoles (xbox and ps) when they get released and have owned every nintendo console with exception of the Wii U. Next gen, I'm only buying a PS5.
Especially since I have a pretty good gaming PC and you can get the XBox exclusives for PC now. And use an Xbox controller with the PC.
