It didn't, Reed was hurt most of the season, and Doctson had flashes but nothing near Garcon or Jackson.
I think it's a bit absurd to think a team would purposely try limit themselves just to prove a point to their quarterback.

I'm not saying they wanted to suck, I'm saying they may not have kept Djax or not signed a WR due to not knowing the status of KC.
