However, that being said, nothing can diminish the fact that the front office is replacing a 29-year old starting QB with a career passer rating of 93.7 with a 33-year old QB with a career passer rating of 87.4. They surrendered a very talented CB and a 3rd round pick as well. All it did for the Chiefs was give them 17 million more in cap room and make their defense better.
The irony of the deal is they are paying the 33-year old today, what they could have signed the 29-year old for 2 years ago.

20/20 hindsight is a wonderful thing.
Had we offered KC this contract 2 years most of us would have gone ballistic. And we should have, KC was nowhere near earning this kind of contract 2 years ago.
