And lets be honest, people love hear from other people through a lacky. Thats how you build respect as leader.
As an example, Ill never forget meeting a new executive in the office who had been partnered with larger group who was going to be working in close proximity to me and our small group of 5. Now when didnt report nor really gave 2 sh*ts about this person. On the walk through we small talked, smiled, laugh and even shared a joke about a fellow co worker we both happened to know. It was great. Later that day a guy came up to me and said "Hey El Chico, dumb b*tch would prefered if you lowered the curtain in the office so it will match with the rest of the floor."
I remember looking at my co worker and telling them how much I respected this new person and how I will hate f*ck her if given the privilage.
