Number 1 whaaa??
Looking at Offensive and defensive overall statistics i noticed that only two teams were top 10 in both catagories in terms of yards/game.
The two teams were none other than DALLAS AND WASHINGTON Dallas is ranked 7th in offense and 10th in defense THe redskins are ranked 8 in offense and 5 in DEFENSE!!! If you average the the rankings of offense and defense of all the teams the redskins come up first in the NFL, with an average of 6.5. I just thought that this is a very interesting statistic that is reflected in our 3-1 record. Offensive domination: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/statistics?sort=ypg&stat=team&pos=off&league=nfl&season=2&year=2005 Defensive domination: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/statistics?sort=ypg&stat=team&pos=def&league=nfl&season=2&year=2005 We still need to score more points but this shows us that we are very capable of being a dominant team |
Re: Number 1 whaaa??
Now I just want to be ranked top 10 in points. :)

Re: Number 1 whaaa??
A good overall sign, but I agree that we need points, and we also need turnovers (the two are related, of course).
But wins is what matters! |
Re: Number 1 whaaa??
I know a lot of us want turnovers (and they'll come), but I'll also take 3-and-outs all day long, provided WE don't turn the ball over.

Re: Number 1 whaaa??
heh. now we need to improve in the points scored category, i'd be happy just be near 16th in points scored, or above. just get out of the bottom of the league in points scored.

But wins is what matters!
I strongly agree. Our offense and special teams need to cut down on penalties and petty mistakes (like the penalties). Perhaps playing in Denver with a hostile crowd did contribute to some of those penalties, like the false starts. I'm a little concerned about the defense right now. Yeah, we gave up only 96 yards passing, but our pass rush is lethargic at best. And those two big runs by Tatum Bell were quite a surprise. We really need Springs and Harris back in the lineup. I'm not convinced Arrington as a starter is the answer, especially if he won't be a team player. But it would be nice if we sent him after the qb once in a while. I'm still wondering if there's a way to trade him. |
Re: Number 1 whaaa??
look at our next competators
Cheifs 27th defense 22nd in points(22.8) 9ers last (32nd) defense Last in points too (32--fittin isn't it) Gints-31 defense (24th in points) :laughing2 :laughing- :laughing2 points will come and they will come hard and fast Philly is ranked 20th but they are better than that(17th in points) http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/statistics?sort=ypg&stat=team&pos=def&league=nfl&season=2&year=2005 |
