Re: The Time is Now
Whoa. I still don't think we can assume anything at this point. We are in an incredibly tough division and play four games against another. It's great to be 3-0, but I won't be thinking playoffs until we get 6 wins sometime before week 11.

Re: The Time is Now
need to get to at least 9-7 or maybe even 10-6 to even consider a playoff appearance. Lets see how we do against the Broncos and Chiefs before we start pawning our electronics for playoff tickets...

Re: The Time is Now
my point was no excuses ..... either win or clean house......

Re: The Time is Now
I would be thrilled with a 9-7 season even if it's not enough to make the playoffs. I just want them to be good so that the national media will lay off coach Gibbs. For some reason Gibbs gets no slack, Parcels has bad seasons and everyone makes excuses for him...Gibbs has 1 bad season and he's suddenly a scrub...

Whoa. Clean house after two years? Sure some teams go straight from basement to playoffs but we've been "cleaning house" every couple of years -Can we please aim for stability? Even if that brings only incremental change for the better, I'd be happy. I mean, the attitude of this team seems markedly better than Year 2 of Spurrier - that alone is worth a great deal. Even if we don't make the playoffs, let's give Gibbs some time folks - three years is about right. I think the playoffs are a good goal right now (with more possible) but we have a tough stretch coming up and need to go 3-1 over the next quarter to really start thinking about the next step. If we don't make the playoffs, but finish 8-8, 9-7 - I'd be okay with that (not truly happy - but not despondent either). As long as we win home games and some division games, it's a good thing. |
Re: The Time is Now
Saints fans and Cardinal fans are used to losing and except that I can still see Norvous and Scurrier saying we played well but we lost.... Bullshit I dont want to hear it they get everything the ask for ...we need to win and win now...I didnt say gibbs ...but some house cleaning will be in order...

so that fact that we look to be improving from one year to the next means we should clean houses if we miss the playoffs? I think after week 5 we'll know if we're looking at being a good team or an average one. I wouldn't say we have all the best players or whatever though. 3-0 is 3-0, no more, no less. |
Re: The Time is Now
great start but yeah playoffs nothing less and no first rd playoff loss either... lol not like the falcons...

Falcons lost the NFC champ. game, not the first round. I think we're at least moving in the right direction, so I don't know if "cleaning house" is called for if we don't walk away with the Super Bowl Ring, but... I like your enthusiasm. |
Re: The Time is Now
IF anything we are in as good as a position that we could hope for, i agree that this is the time to put up or shutup interms of these next couple weeks. If we split these next two you can call me a happy man but we don't have any reason not to hope for 2 wins. We are 3-0, we are undefeated, we are supposed to be better, lets put up during the denver game and shut down all this bad talk about the skins. This is our week and i am looking forward to being the "worst 4-0 team in NFL history" and come game 6 we are gonna be bush league again and again game 8. We have to win no excuses, we have to win. We have a hell of a chance to be 5-1, we got to do it. The skins play to win and i will be aiming for a 6-0 start hell we could be aiming 16-0 but we got to do it now because this is the best chance we have had for a long long time. The time is now

wow. don't get so sure of yourself. let's look at your post shall we?
we have the best players in football
not at all. there are plenty of better players in the league right now. while they do have plenty of heart and moxie, and whatever you want to call it, they aren't the best at their positions. so far, they've gotten the job done.
the best running back
not ever. try not being such a homer next time. while it's okay to be a little optimistic, portis isn't the best running back in football right now. have you ever heard of ladainian tomlinson?
the best stadium
i'd say biggest, and while so far it's living up to the rep of say, rfk, it won't be that way for long if we start losing. we do have h.f. advantage to a certain extent, but we have to be consistent in that aspect if we want recognition as a tough place to play.
best collection of coaches
i'll agree with you to a certain extent right now. we do have a top rate coaching staff, that if it has the right talent and personnel, it can get the job done. but it will take a couple winning seasons before people start acknowledging joe gibbs.
Mr. Snyder is the best owner in sports
no. not at all. don't ever say that again. while he looks good right now, we're only 4 weeks into the season, therefore it's too early to call him the best. that statement made you sound like you've forgotten all the other years he's been owner.
no more shit from dallas or eagles fans
hahahahaha. that made me laugh. they will never stop trying, just like we will never stop trying. we haven't even beaten philly yet, so stop before you start a controversy with their fans. we'd have to consistently win games against them for a little respect from whatever knowledgable fans they have. |
Re: The Time is Now
Wow mooby. That was very uncharacteristic of you.
