Stadium advice

Hi guys, I'm a longtime skins fan and I'm about to make my first trip to Fed Ex Field. I was hoping some of the experienced game attendees could give some advice on where to park and such that won't cost an arm and a leg. I'm coming up from southern maryland, would I be better off taking the beltway or 214?

As far as parking, I did general admission and it was $25 and you take a bus to the stadium. It's far away, but it's really easy to get out.

The difficulty with Fed Ex is parking. If you park close it is brutal getting out of that area. I have no idea about coming from S. Maryland.

Re: Stadium advice

I always park pretty close to the stadium but we tailgate for a couple of hours before and after the game. I like to be right in the mix of things. We usualy park on Arena Drive Off 495. We park in the last pay lot before the reserved parkinig. We back in and tail gate right on Arena Dr so we catch all the action going on as fans start to arive. If you want to get out fast follow the others advice buts that where we will be on opening day.

I think I might do some "tailgate hopping" on opening day. We'll be starting at my car at 9AM doing some grilling and working our way towards the stadium...

I'm not sure but my brother-in-law may have purchased a parking pass. If thats the case we maybe parked right infront of the staduium.

I'm an Orange Pass guy, which puts me pretty close to the stadium. I tailgate as long as I can, and typically hang out for the "5th quarter" celebration on Club Level, so the traffic doesn't kill me.

Alright, great. I'm all the way out in general admission, but I'm going to be working my way in. I think Gmanc has a parking pass a little further out, so I'll drink with him and then we'll prep right before the game with you.

Cash lots are $25, and they're not too bad. A quick 5 minute ride gets you to and from the stadium.

This is straight from the Metro website:
"...we strongly encourage everyone attending a special event at FedEx Field to park their vehicle for free at another Metro station on weekends, and pay the round-trip rail fare to the Morgan Boulevard Metrorail station, as the station is within walking distance to the stadium"
That station is less than a mile from the Stadium. You could park at one of the Blue Line lots (just not Morgan Blvd or Largo Town Center), take the Metro to Morgan Blvd and walk. You could also park at Landover, and take the shuttle over from there at $5/person.

Your best bet if it's more than 2 people: Get there the alloted 4 hours early, park in the Cash lots, and tailgate like it's no one business. Then tailgate afterwards to allow the traffic to thin...

Re: Stadium advice

since i live in virginia whenever i go to redskins games me and my dad take the metro up to the closest station, and metro provides busses from there. simple, and i don't have to pay for parking, or have to wait a long time to get out of the stadium.
