This Memorial Day every house on my block is flying Old Glory in remembrance of those service members who gave their lives in defense of our nation. I am proud of my neighborhood.

Meanwhile, I checked cnn.com and msnbc.com this morning and there is not a single word on either site about remembering and honoring our fallen heroes. It saddens me to know that many people in this country do not share the patriotism that has held us together for generations.

Happy Memorial Day!! Rest in peace and thank you more than words can express, to all the men and women that are way braver than I'll ever be, that died for their fellow U.S. citizens.

I disagree, I usually read msn.com in the mornings to see what's going on and I didn't do that yesterday. But you know what I did do? I went to DC with friends and we went to Arlington National Cemetery and we also walked around DC to watch the Memorial Day parade. And the turnout in both places was very high even though it was a super hot muggy/humid day.

Liberal or conservative there is plenty of people in our country who appreciate those who sacrificed their lives for our collective benefit. Don't turn this into another political thread please.
