Lions Pre game thread
The Redskins are 31-14 overall against the Lions..
I Don't see a win this Sunday though, Detroit has played tough all season and they have the overall better Offense so I'm going with the Lions in this one. 24-21 With a late FG for the win. |
Re: Lions Pre game thread
In our favour:
#1 pass D (yards), good pass rush (but could be better) vs. #22 (rating) pass O. #19 Run D (yards) vs #27 run O Against us: #30 rush O vs #29 rush D #24 pass O vs #13 pass D Smith has had a week with the 1's so hopefully the passing game will be improved. If we can sustain a few more early drives and put points up in the first half we can win this. But we can't have a TO fest like last week else we're stuffed. Really hinges on how the D plays, as shutting them down and short fields looks to be the best way to win, not getting into a points fest. |
Re: Lions Pre game thread
Lions are in that middle to lower tier teams...they'll win some games you don't think they would, and lose ones they should win...either way, they'll find a way to win this one.

Re: Lions Pre game thread
"Shoulda Drafted Tua or Herbert" Bowl ... perhaps.
Im happy w Chase though. Not sure how the Lions faithful feel about corner Okudah. Chase was a no brainer at 2 and still is imo. Okudah at 3 over Tua? ehh thats a harder one to justify. Tough spot for the Lions bc Stafford contract keeps him a Lion for 20 and 21. Hard to take a top 3 QB and then make him sit for 2 years but competitive teams make tough decisions and teams like the Lions and Skins make Lions and Skins type decisions. Okudah is sporting a 41.6 PFF grade. Chase a 79.9. Another 1 pm Sunday start. Im fine with that but wouldnt mind a SNF or MNF game. Return of Adrian Peterson. Looks like his carries have dropped below 10 a game now. ------------ I like Matt Staffords game. I think he is a top 10-15 range QB who you can win with but his best success is being a winner off the field. 226 Million US dollars earned so far over his 12 year career and boat load of money coming next year. Just to be a competent middle tier QB on a crappy team. its good to be Matthew Stafford |
Re: Lions Pre game thread
Are Peterson's carries dropping because the Lions are chasing deficits more than trying to drain clock?
Arguably Stafford has never had the full supporting act to properly thrive; great WR's no TE and RB, good WR's good TE and no RB etc. Arguably dropping him into a team like last years 49ers, this years Ravens etc. might show he's actually top shelf. Must admit, had they the budget and not been effectively in full rebuild mode, I wouldn't have been surprised it the Pats had gone after him last offseason. |

+1 On a different note, Gibson missed practice yesterday and is questionable for the game this Sunday. If he misses the game then we will have to rely on the fantastic duo in McKissic and Barber. I just picked up McKissic in one of my FFL, he is going to be a PPR monster with no Gibson time and Smith as QB. |
Re: Lions Pre game thread
Bryce Love returned to practice this week. I'm not sure he's ready to go, but if he is, that might lessen the blow if Gibson is inactive this week.

The D will be just fine against this Lions offense. |

I dont get it. are you trying to make a breast cancer joke? |
Re: Lions Pre game thread
I'd gladly take either one of them to a nice dinner. Filet mignon and lobster for the lady. Since that's all my money, I'll have a side salad on the side of my water glass.

If our defense can keep the Lions around 20 points or less, then I really like our chances. |
