Your Sports Media

A friend of mine and I got into this conversation on what sports shows and radio we like, so I thought I'd bring it here since we have people all over on this site. What are your favorite sports tv shows, radio shows, or podcasts? In the mornings I will have Good Morning Football on the NFL channel while getting ready, Dan Patrick Show from 9-12 at work (really like that on youtube now), I will usually listen to Kevin Sheehan's podcasts at some point, and I watch Pardon The Interruption pretty religiously, and of course this site. I am on twitter, mainly for sports and follow most of the Redskins folks like Keim, JP, etc...as well as Schefter, Rapaport, etc. I'm interested in other podcasts some of you may like?

On my regular podcast rotation:
Pardon My Take
John Keim
Kevin Sheehan
Redskins Talk

I'll also sprinkle in the Ross Tucker podcast but mainly only to listen to the interviews he does with Andrew Brandt and Greg Cosell, I skip the rest

I don't watch a lot of sports media anymore besides the games themselves. More of a reader for my news. That goes for just about everything including sports and politics.

+1

On the national media I like Rich Eisen and Pat McAfee, but I'm not religiously watching them every week either.

Locally I like Keim and recently The Athletic writers (they go more in-depth than anything I see elsewhere).

I agree...they seem to be setting a new standard for sports writing. I would like to read more, but the time isn't there right now...so I catch bits and pieces off Twitter from them.

I hear nothing but good things about The Athletic. Might need to bite the bullet and add the subscription to my budget.

The Athletic caught a lot of shit initially but they have definitely established themselves as legit

Czabe was talking about this yesterday, the sports writer demand is going extinct and the Althletic, worth 500Mbut posting loses still, is the only medium out there that can survive asking for paid content.

I cant ever see myself paying for content anymore. Am I missing out? i guess .. but how would I know.

Terps - testudo times
Skins - here for discussion, hogs haven for content
Caps - hockeyboard

radio -its btw the 2 sports stations around here, i flip back and forth depending on what they talk about

------------------

podcasts - ive been meaning to find a good local sports podcast to listen to while im driving (2 hours/day work commute) but (im going to sound like an idiot ... bc I am) .... where do i find them? sometimes i listen to a random podcast on youtube

whose the best local pod cast and where do i find them to listen through my phone?

My options are limited to what comes in on the radio, which oddly seems to vary from day to day, even in the same places regardless of weather. A little over a year ago ESPN dumped their local FM affiliate so there went listening National games and various other games while working. The electronics in the machines I run interfere with AM signals. If my travels are about 10 miles north of home I can pick up 106.7 FM the Fan. Other than that 910, 950, 980 am I think 910 is Fox and the other two ESPN. Those are the ones that seem to have variable reception during the day and they are flat out dead by night fall.

Internet radio is out as it somehow consumes too much data as I only have 15 GB a month. I wonder if satellite radio will work in the black hole I seem to live and travel in?

Satellite internet didn't work worth a crap. I do have a view of the sky, but it isn't perfectly unobstructed in all directions. There is just something strange about this area with any communications that aren't hardwired. Cell phone will drift from 0-3 bars signal in a period of seconds sitting in the same spot. Broadcast TV channels can vary greatly in signal strength from one day to the next, even at the same time of day and weather. I suppose I will check into that satellite radio.
