Landon Collins is available... |
Re: Landon Collins Available
You have to figure the 'Skins will be in on this one. Gruden said at the combine that safety is a huge priority.

Re: Landon Collins Available
If we spend some $$ in free agency Collins is one of those guys that's worth it

Re: Landon Collins Available
Agree and I have to figure he would have some interest. He played with a lot of these Alabama guys we have here. Not to mention the hometown connection.
All we'd have to do is be in the neighborhood of what he's worth on the open market and tiebreakers would figure to break in our direction. |

I'm not talking about Super Bowl hope but hope in general instead of the doom and gloom I think we all expected? |
Re: Landon Collins Available
no thanks, 2018 stats; 0 interceptions 4 passes defended...2017 slightly better. They need a safety that has some coverage skills.
Plus a big contract. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/C/CollLa00.htm |

You need to think on why the Giants aren't trying to keep him. He is a great tackler and is good against the run but his coverage skills and his injury history make him not worth the money of top tier. |
Re: Landon Collins Available
This is a good read and much of it true but I will add Collins is terrible on coverage.

Re: Landon Collins Available
Well aware he's an in the box safety, he's still a good player and much better than anything we have now.
|
Re: Landon Collins Available
You know the standard, once a guy leaves a team, all the teams fans say that player sucks.
|
Re: Landon Collins Available
I'm all about Collins, but I keep reading that the Redskins like their safeties to be interchangeable. If they change that up a little bit, I'm all for him coming here and just being the in-the-box guy (giggity).

Re: Landon Collins Available
Eric Weddle cut yesterday....man this Safety class is flush with talent. Kinda makes you wonder. Also the deals have been really down the last couple years for both Safety spots.
I really like Collins...his play has come down from his all pro 2nd season. What type of contract would he garner and could we afford it? I think there will be other teams that will wow him contract wise and I also believe there could be better value with a market so flushed at that position. I think Earl Thomas is a better safety, but much older. |
Re: Landon Collins Available
A lot of good FA's out there, could help keep the $$ in line.

You're probably one of the few G-men fans who is thinking this way. My nephew who is a big time Giants fan is pissed off about this whole situation. |
