But this play is great: Blue Jays' Chris Coghlan Soars over Cardinals Catcher Yadier Molina to Score | Bleacher Report |
Re: MLB 2017 Thread
Well even if they choke they'll still be better than the Braves and Mets.
Lifeprotip: If you wanna contend, don't get swept by your rivals at home. Start with that, work from there. |
Re: MLB 2017 Thread
Any advice about going to Nats park? Planning a trip for Family...and I see there aint jack shit places to stay overnight worth a shit within walking distance of the park. f*ck.
Moobs, do you have a lifeprotip for going to a Nats game? Or anybody else? |
Re: MLB 2017 Thread
My wife and I stayed at a Marriott that was just a quick walk to the stadium. Maybe five minutes?

Re: MLB 2017 Thread
Idk anything about hotels near the stadium, because I get to go home after every game I go to, but I can give you tips on parking and unaffordable eats near the stadium. Haven't been to a game this year but the Navy Yard has really been cleaned up in the last couple years and there should still be ongoing work. If you want cheap eats there really isn't much near the park, but Bonchon is about 3 blocks from the stadium (next to 95) if you want something cheaper than a bar tab. If you want to pay ballpark prices for a beer the Bullpen is the place to go, but the real draw for me and co. is playing cornhole and the food trucks there. Also according to Google Maps there's a BWW across the street from the Bullpen. Most of your restaurant/bar options will be east towards the Navy Yard though.
According to the Nats there are no more solidly priced options for parking left, the cheapest lot (aka furthest from the stadium) is like 33 bucks. You can try the lot next to the DC Fire maintenance shop, last year that was 20 bucks but they might have jacked it up this year like every other lot. We used to park at a lot underneath the 95 bridge next to Virginia Avenue but that might be gone this year thanks to construction. And like I said I got nothing on hotels, I'm too cheap to stay in the city whenever I need a place to stay overnight. You could stay in Alexandria and Metro up (take the Yellow/Blue, transfer to Green line at L'Enfant and then take that to Navy Yard) to avoid parking, but be aware with Safetrack you might encounter delays. Google the Safetrack schedule to know where they're currently working at. One way or another someone will milk you, you either drive up and pay for parking, or you pay for a hotel in the city, or you pay for riding Metro at rush hour, and if you eat inside the stadium you will definitely be paying. The tickets to the game might be the cheapest thing you buy, depending on where you sit. We used to get away with spending under 40 on gameday (10 for parking, 10 for a ticket, 20 for a meal and a single beer) but that's getting harder these days. |
Re: MLB 2017 Thread
Word up! Thanks...bullpen and food trucks sounds like a winner too. It's insane how expensive shit is these days, your gonna eat a bowl of dicks either way you look at it. Parking to me is the bitch...
Nats gotta get some bullpen help. How they didn't go get some this offseason is fucking amazing |

Yeah I was disappointed they never seriously tried to retain Melancon either. We'll see how the bullpen shakes out, so far they've looked unimpressive but if it remains a problem maybe they'll make another move at the deadline. |

Yup, he's one of the few quality guys we have. Hopefully he takes his time coming back, nothing worse than rushing to come back and reinjuring himself again. |

Very true, That Adam Eaton injury hurts, because he was looking like a very solid pickup. |
