would u take Clarret
he's in the draft 2 years out of football. would u take him as a portis backup
me i would why not, u know the kid has a chip on his shoulder and he has talent. I don't know I guess I like the bad guy. |
LMAO!!!! wow
|
don't get me wrong he has major drawbacks but he' d be a steal in the 6th or 7th round
|
If he falls that late, we'd be stupid not to take him, in my opinion. The kid is a player and was ready for the NFL 2 years ago, just like Mike Williams was this year. I doubt he falls to the 6th or 7th round, but I think he's certainly worth it!
He made a mistake trying to cover Ohio State and their Boosters ass's and took the heat, he's not that bad of a guy. At least he wants to play football. |
not a chance in hell. Getting a running back is a horrible idea. We spent all this money on portis, he cnat kepe thinking someone is breathing down his neck. betts is a great backup, getting more hbs would only mess up chemistry

I dissagree i think its more of an investment in portis because at his postion he has more of a possibility to get hurt and he'll excel with a good change of pace back. Similar to TJ Ducket and warrick dunn. Dunn speeds past them, while ducket beats them down the middle. and they both last longer. |
I have a feeling he would go earlier in the draft than people would expect.
|
me too Malcolm - Id be suprised if he were around for our 3rd round pick.
|
Not only that, I think that Betts is a solid backup and Portis is really young himself.
|
Betts is solid, but injury prone. I feel our best chance to make sure Portis stays motivated is light a fire under his ass. We're only one play away from not having him, so a backup plan isn't bad. I think Clarett could be VERY valuable to this team.
Am I saying he should dethrone Portis? No. Should he get some playing time? Most definitely. How would you like to let Portis rest for a drive or two in the end of the 3rd quarter, then get him back out there with some fresh legs in the 4th. A backup breathing down his throats means he needs to perform or he's in trouble, that drives many players to their best (See Drew Brees) |
I don't remember Clarret that well... is he more of a beast than Portis or is he the same type of slashing runner?
|
He's pretty balanced in my opinion. He can go through the tackles, and take it to the house. I'm interested to see his combine numbers. Make sure he's stayed in shape.
|
Yeah definitely, might be an interesting option.
HEY, I've got an idea! Whoever drafts him, we'll give them Gardener! I'm a genius! LOL |
he'll be gone by the third round, this is a very deep draft at running back though so you never know. Clarret has baggage to go with him though, somethign else we dotn need. betts and portis is a fine duo, thats all we need. We have bigger issues that we could fill with our third round pick
|
Exactly - hense I said if he's there at pick #6 o #7 we'd be stupid to pass him up. I don't think we should use our 3rd on em.
