Re: Belichick COY
Bullshit! You can't be COY when you're one and done after a 14-2 season. I'm sorry but the Packer's coach got robbed. I would even say Rex Ryan or Lovie Smith deserved it more than Hoddie.

Re: Belichick COY
Wasn't it Mangini's signs he stole? The atmosphere inthe NFL is one of a short memory.

Re: Belichick COY
Should have been tod Haley IMO or even mike smith

skinsfaninok:
Haley and Mike Smith (not Lovie Smith) are viable candidates for CoY. So are DelRio, Tomlin (no Big Ben for first 4 weeks), McCarthy and Morris. All of these folks did a very good job this year... And so did Bill Belichick. If I had a vote - - which I do not - - I would have voted for Haley. But I cannot bring myself to think that Belichick did not deserve the award. |
Re: Belichick COY
14-2 with a lot of new players, can't complain about that.

Re: Belichick COY
McCarthy should have gotten it. A half a billion players on IR and he still gets the team to the Super Bowl. Haley also deserved a long look. Maybe Reid for being able to replace a Franchise QB so quickly. Lovie Smith going from the hot seat to the NFC Championship. Raheem Morris going from the Number 3 pick in the draft with no one giving him a shot to do anything for at least another year (if that) to 10-6. Personally all of the guys I listed I would have voted ahead of Bellicheck, but McCarthy got snubbed if you ask me.

Well it's based on regular season, so taking a 10-6 team to the SB doesn't really matter |

When did they vote on the award? |

Yes. I would have voted for McCarthy but it is difficult to say that Darth does not deserve the award. |

I think they used to vote for it between the ending of the season and he wildcard weekend, but I also remember hearing something about that changing. Let me keep searching. Also I'd vote for BB |
Re: Belichick COY
If the vote were taken prior to the playoffs, and much as I hate to admit it, I'd give BB the vote. Completely retooled without "rebuilding" and still went 14-2. Before the 3rd Jets game, everybody had them going to the SB.
If the vote were held today, McCarthy. No doubt. |
Re: Belichick COY
Tom Cable would have gotten my vote. Really? The Raiders? 8-8? That's enough to earn the award.
|
Re: Belichick COY
Tomlin got no love at all eh? I thought the Steelers did a great job at holding things together without BR for 4 games to start the season.
Can't argue with BB though. |
Re: Belichick COY
My vote would of gone to Raheem Morris. He did a phenomenal job. The Buc's were terrible last year, now they're well on their way to being a contender. Not to mention that he did it with one of the youngest rosters in the NFL.
