Re: Warpath Q & A with Brian Mitchell

What position do you feel the redskins should target with their first round pick or do you believe they should go for a best player available option?

Hiya BMitch! You are a legendary return man. Thanks for taking the time with us.

Was there a particular return that you feel was your very best special teams play?

Not to take away from all the other amazing career moments of course.

I'd like to ask him more than two questions

BMitch. Are the Skins going to ever figure it out? Are they going to get rid of the drama and overpaying players older players and return to being one of the elite teams in this league?

If you were GM of the Redskins what would your offseason priorities be and how, specifically would you accomplish them?

Can the Skins cut (or not re-sign) a significant portion of there older players and still be competive or are we doomed to a 2-6 win season by conducting a roster overhaul?

Based on the players you would retain, (who would be they be), what sort of team would you expect?

As an experienced player cut by the team (foolishly in my opinion), what does the remaining team lose/gain when such a player is cut? Are there benefits in doing so before a player has reached the end of his playing days?

What players (offensive and defensive) playing today would have excelled when you were playing and why?

There are 3 QBs on the roster. Can any of the three thrive in the Mike/Kyle Shanahan offensive system?

Bmitch thanks!

You were a well remembered trash talker on the field, with whats been going on in the press this pass week between Pats vs Jets, did you ever talk like that in the press? Is it appropriate to talk trash in the press vs on the field? Does it give a team an advantage in the locker room, in your opinion, leading up to the game and if so who has the advantage the aggressor or the team that is quiet?

Thanks again

Bmitch-

It seems that there is this conflicting identity of the Redskins front office throughout the last couple of years. On one hand, we're told that we are a rebuilding team... trying to draft young talented players, install and offense, etc. On the other hand, we seem to have a win now approach (see D. Mcnabb, Haynsworth's contract, etc). I have three questions.

1) Do you think that the current front office has the ability to accomplish both (a la Patriots) during their tenure?

2) Can Redskins fans stomach Snyder coming out and saying, "Hey, We're going to suck for a few years... but it's in order to rebuild... so bear with us"

3) Do you think winning, and winning alone will be enough for Redskins fans to forgive and forget Snyder's management of this football team for the past 10 years?

Thanks B-mitch. Love your stuff on both TV and Radio... keep it up.

Greetings Brian, Long time fan....first time.....question....asker?
Thank you for taking the time!
If you were running the Skins Draft effort on D-day, how does it go down?
Most importantly, who's your guy (Or do you trade down) at #10?
Thank you Brian!

Re: Warpath Q & A with Brian Mitchell

Brian,

1) What would you consider Joe Gibbs best coaching accomplishment? The 1992/1993 season when you guys lost to the 49ers 20-13? That team was injury riddled and you had to start. The other is the 2007 season when Sean Taylor died, the Redskins were 5-6 and Joe Gibbs took them to playoffs despite of it all and with Todd Collins. To me, those 2 years were his best coaching despite all the setbacks.

2) Were the 1991 Redskins the best team of the 70's,80's, 90's like ESPN computerized game claims?

Thanks.

Hey BMitch when are you and CP going to scrap?

No seriously

What impresses you most about Brandon Banks in the future? Can he be a Devin Hester for the Redskins?

Thanks

What is your take on the pending CBA?

Re: Warpath Q & A with Brian Mitchell

As a college QB yourself who excelled in the NFL but not at his college position, what is your take on Cam Newton? He's obviously a great athletic talent, but is he an NFL QB?
