Class Act

Okay, so I still think Rex Ryan is a douche and that the Jets are a team that reflects their coach's personality. BUT...

New York Jets' Mark Sanchez mourns death of young fan - ESPN New York

Class act by Sanchez, clearly, regardless of his skills as a QB, a good guy. Also, the story indicates that the team had a moment of silence in remembrance. Despite my opinion of the coach and team as a whole, I am willing to give credit where credit is due - Classy move Rex. Classy move Jets.

Great story.

Man, cancer sucks no matter the age, but with kids it's just not fair... just not fair.

Wow, to say that story got me a little choked up is an understatement.

You'd have to be a robot for that story not to move you... absolute class act

Even I can't find a puppy to kick in that article. Very impressed with both the Jets and Sanchez. It's hard to believe he's only 24, yet he's so great with a young fan in a tough situation. I love when teams are able to touch, especially young fans, lives like this. The fact that the kids first wish was his two brothers stay healthy says a lot about the young man and his family. Thoughts are with them.

Wow. Too often you hear about athletes visiting terminally ill kids and stuff but you never hear about them keeping in touch with them or developing an actual relationship with them. Mad props to the Jets and Sanchez especially for really bringing Aiden into their lives and making his last few weeks the happiest he's had.

Yeah, I read that last night, and it brought tears to my eyes. Definitely gives you some serious perspective right there. Poor little guy.

I'm 8 years older than Mark Sanchez, and I can't even imagine how I would have reacted at 24 years old (let alone now) if a dying kid's biggest wish was to meet me.

****ing cancer.

Bravo, Sanchize. That display of class actually makes up for Rex Ryan's lack thereof. I didn't think that was possible.

Absolutely. The NFL needs a lot more players like him.
