For some reason i just never seen much of Carriker..... How did he do this year???????????Maybe it was just me, but i watch at least ten games and just never seen him making any plays

Re: Final Redskins Playing Time Totals
Props to London- epitome of professionalism and dependability.
Carriker played what was it every game or the most snaps on the line and only had 48 tackles and 1.5 sacks = thats decent on avg for his position but I think he should have had wayyyyyy more- How did Moss not get a probowl invite? I can only imagine what could have been in the 2010 season but I would rather not think about. |
Re: Final Redskins Playing Time Totals
Carriker had his moments I think... as a 3-4 lineman you're just not going to rack up a ton of tackles and he's obviously not a pass rushing specialist.

Re: Final Redskins Playing Time Totals
Carriker made a comment the other day that was on RI - he say early on he was worried too much about gap discipline & reading the play. He said late in the year he realized he could keep his gap responsibility AND make the play. He really looked good late in the year.
Coming out of college he was a DE that many thought could rush the passer. Not a 10+ sack guy but a guy that could get 7-8 in his best year while playing solid run defense. He showed flashes of that late in the year getting into the backfield more. I actually wonder if his "fight" w/Jarmon lit a fire in him. I see him keeping his starting job as long as he's healthy. |

During a post-game interview after the season finale, defensive end Adam Carriker said something interesting to me. For those who missed it, here’s what he had to say: “For the first part of the season I was holding my gap and nobody was moving me,” Carriker said. “But I think as the season went along I stopped being so gap conscience and just started making plays. Especially in these last two games I just said forget it. Nobody is going to push me off of the ball … I’ve proven that and now I just want to go out and make plays. That’s what I’ve been able to do lately.” Well, it turns out Carriker was telling the truth. In the first 14 games, Carriker had a half of a sack, nine pressures and 17 defensive stops. Over the final two games though, he picked up a sack, five hits and nine defensive stops. I look forward to having him start next year so hopefully he can continue his progression. |
Re: Final Redskins Playing Time Totals
To see all the different guys playing 3 positions on the D-Line tells me we need to find some stability there. Im telling people if we dont find a decent starter at NT in the offseason, we are going to struggle again on defense. I dont care how many LBs we add in the offseason, when opposing Olineman easily toss aside Kemo, Gholston and get to the second level no problem, its pretty ugly to watch
