Skins work out JaMarcus Russell (and a bunch of other free agents)
Thanks to Twilbert07 for the tip
JaMarcus Russell to Meet with Redskins Personally I say why not? He's no risk/high reward. |
re: Skins work out JaMarcus Russell (and a bunch of other free agents)
Yeah, I agree. Initially I thought, "No way.," but after thinking about it for a couple minutes, why not? The bye week is perfect time to take a free look-see with no risk.

I suppose there's no harm in doing so, but does anyone really think this guy can be an NFL quarterback?
And please nobody bring up the mcnabb benching in this thread.. no way this is related. Sent from my Android device using Tapatalk |

You can't question his raw talent, if he gets his head on straight he could be scary good. If he's dedicated to doing that, he could be a steal for somebody. For a minimal deal I wouldn't hesitate to give him a shot, especially if someone is vouching for him like Lucas.

Nice joke Halloween is over guys.

It appears it will be a........spirited bye week

He's obviously not a short term solution, he would need to sit for a year or two. Having a mentor like McNabb certainly wouldn't hurt.

To quote Brady Quinn "That's suprising!"

re: Skins work out JaMarcus Russell (and a bunch of other free agents)
So if they do sign him, is it Beck or Grossman who will be gone?
|
re: Skins work out JaMarcus Russell (and a bunch of other free agents)
Is this JaMarcus Russell that was decent at LSU, or the bloated one who looks like he ate small children and washed them down with purple drank in his final days in Oakland?
It never hurts to look at someone, but this kind of fodder is laughable. |
re: Skins work out JaMarcus Russell (and a bunch of other free agents)
This is beyond horrible. These decisions reek of Snyder and Cerrato. Sure, another QB with a million dollar arm and a 10 cent brain. No one else in the NFL wants him, so who steps up? The Redskins.
I hope he doesnt sign here. for the love of god can QB stuff get any worse? McNabb is benched, people hate Rex Grossman, and now the reclamation project is Jamarcus Freaking Russell?? |

Grossman's body of work in a Skins uniform will be enough for him to keep him on the team. |
re: Skins work out JaMarcus Russell (and a bunch of other free agents)
Originally I thought no, but what the heck, sometimes its the system and the Raiders have had their issues at QB with the system they have now. He just better lose some weight (conditioning) and not go back to the drugs.

To be honest. His regular season body work sucks! He is only around because of his relatonship with Kyle and his supposed knowledge of the offense. As fas ar Russell, I do not see where he fits at all. |
re: Skins work out JaMarcus Russell (and a bunch of other free agents)
I'd absolutely love if we signed him. From all the comments ive read since oakland cut him, he's really got his head together now. He's never had the benefit of a quality NFL coaching staff, so I think Shanahan could do wonders with him. He's certainly a better long-term project than Beck.
