Quick, everyone get on eBay and hoard them to re-sell in 10 years for a fortune!

I'm also surprised they're still made, but I guess other nations aren't as technologically-spoiled as us.

I'm sure they're commonplace in places like Nigeria. You'll see kids strolling down the street with a Walkman, while wearing their Carolina Panthers Super Bowl Champs shirt.

I was surprised that they were still made as well. I had one up until about 2000. I didnt know that anyone still even sold cassette tapes.

I wonder if TTE has one. Remember how he didn't know what an iPod was?

Makes sense when you think of all the places that don't have access to the net or to pc's... can't exactly download mp3's in that situation. I wonder what are more durable, cassettes or cd's?

Barring extreme heat, I'd say cassettes.

I've only had one every break on me in my lifetime and it was because I played the thing to death.

CDs scratch very easily. I take very careful care of mine and they still don't stay perfect.

You can drop cassettes without killing them. Drop a CD in your driveway and there's a good chance it's done.

Now sound quality...convenience of finding a song instantly...there's no comparison. I still have all of my old cassettes from the 80s and they'll play. They have durability as a strength for sure, unlike VHS tapes that break down and become unplayable over time, especially if not rewound completely.
