Report on WGN Saturday night

WGN said on their newscast tonite that there is an unconfirmed rumor that the Chicago Bears have signed Jeff George to play QB for them after Craig Krenzel injured his ankle.

More than likely, Jeff George will thus be a free agent in the off-season. I wonder if Danny Boy will be in touch again this time?

[QUOTE]Bears Sign QB Jeff George

The Chicago Bears have agreed to a 1 year deal with veteran quarterback Jeff George. George, 36, was a first round pick in the 1990 draft by the Indianapolis Colts. Chicago will become the seventh different franchise for which George will have played, after stints in Indianapolis (1990-93), Atlanta (1994-96), Oakland (1997-98), Minnesota (1999) Washington (2000-2001) and Seattle (2002-2003). Jeff George has one of the greatest arms ever to grace a football field. Of course, that's not nearly enough. Still, as far as just watching a guy throw a football, few compare to George.

he has the aaron brooks syndrome, but 200x worse... he has the physical tools, but he's not a leader in any way... he leaves a HUGE void...

While Joe Gibbs is here he has final say on all football decisions, and I am 100% sure Gibbs won't go after JGeorge.

Big C 11-28-2004 11:41 AM

cant get any worse than what they already have

A friend of mine once had a great description for Jeff George as a locker room leader:

'When Jeff George enters the locker room, it's as if two guys just left."

MTK 11-28-2004 06:29 PM

The fact that he's sat home since 2001 speaks volumes.

That Guy 11-28-2004 07:45 PM

or that he's had like 5 teams in 7 years or whatever...
