Sen. Max Baucus appears drunk on Senate floor
Oh boy. So glad this winner is the Chairman of the Finance Committee. Example #3,472 of what's wrong with American politics.

Avatar 2.
Seeing how much fun the US politicians are having at the expense of their embarrassingly naive citizens, Bacchus, god of wine, takes on the form of a 6 term US Senator and joins in on the revelry. |
Re: Sen. Max Baucus appears drunk on Senate floor
I think we need Term Limits. Could you imagine how awesome it would be to see over half of the Senate and the House shown the door in the next two elections.

I don't know that term limits are the panacea some believe. I do think they'd be better than what we have currently but not in any perfect. I'd fear that lobbyists and special interests would gain even more control since they'd be constantly running over short-timers. Now that may be offset by the lack of motivation to stay in power on the political side but who knows how the dynamics of term limits would play out? At the end of the day the magic bullet is that we as a group stop electing douche-bags. But that would take a media who didn't slant one way or the other and covered politics straight up, attention by the electorate bordering on fantasy, diligence on our part to not vote for the guys who promise to give us the most stuff, etc... We're doomed. |

We're doomed.
Then why not allow the president to keep running after serving two terms as well. |
