Rookie Reaction
Here is a quote from Mike Wise's article
Mike Wise - A no-more-win situation? - washingtonpost.com
Brian Orakpo's baritone voice emoted a one-word expletive in the corner of the locker room, so thunderous many of his teammates turned around. "I'm tried of this [stuff]!" the rookie added, muttering to no one in particular as he sat by his cubicle. "Every week you come out and this same [stuff] happens. We prepare, we work hard and then this. I can't deal with it . . . I can't deal with it."
So, since even I have now written off this season, the question becomes how will our rookies and younger players deal with it. I don't know whether Orakpo's reaction is good or bad. Anyone have any thoughts? |
Re: Rookie Reaction
Meh, sounds like how everyone must feel in that locker room right now. The one positive you have to take from yesterday was the way the team fought back in the 2nd half. The fans may be quitting, but at least the players aren't.

Re: Rookie Reaction
I hope every player on this team is that mad.

Re: Rookie Reaction
Two things:
1) I hope the players know we have not given up on them. Although there is some discontent in regards to some prima dona's not doing their part I don't think I have heard anyone completely mad at the players. If #2 changes fans will be a little more respectfull in regards to the losses. 2) I think the Fans are basically pissed that VC is still with the team. I can't tell DS how to run this team but I think (just me) that if DS would fire VC tomarrow most fans would be content with the fact that there will be definit change. Instead we have to keep seeing VC's smiling mug all the time and hear his lame answer's with the feeling that DS is not willing to let his little buddy go. The little buddy who has picked players based off of BPA instead of need. I'll agree BPA may be a good route to take "if" there are no glaring need in any one position. That way your picking up quality players for the future. I'm not knocking those players picked cause they might turn out to be gems but they won't fix our glaring O-line issues. and....instead of picking up O-lineman (knowing Samuels and Thomas might not make the whole season) they picked up Mason (who I like) and Alridge. I'd rather they pick people who would have helped the team out immediatly and proven me wrong then try to keep someone cause you think he might work out. Then after the injuries they still brought back Alridge (why?) and later picked up a Full back (again why?). I'd rather they went out and raided other teams practice squad and picked up a bunch of young O-lineman Buges could work with right now and hopefully they could replace people in the future. At this point they just need to play all the young guys to give them experience. I don't care how many times they say we still have a half a yr to play. These players are not in sink with each other. It's a team full of players but they are not a team. Better to give the young guys experience for the future and to see what we have. Place Portis on IR. No need to keep him on the field not improving his game or his health. Williams is a bust, even though I was hoping he would contribute. He continues to block with his head down and keeps getting beat. Time to replace and cut bait. Sorry for going on a tangent. |
Re: Rookie Reaction
Well a rookie is speaking up and saying he is sick off it...not hearing is from anybody else...f*ing sad. I thought our leadership was stronger on this team...apparently not. Its coming from the deffense too....havent heard anything from the offense..our leaders are piss poor...

Yeah I really dont know about that...do you seriously think these guys are giving 110%? I seriously doubt it, I saw the same thing end of last year...Slow starts, not playing all 4 quarters, penalities, that garbage on the Falcons' sideline, nobody showing emotion, samethings being said during the week....absolutely feel these guys are not giving it their all and not showing heart...I wouldnt say they are quitting but they are not giving it everything which IMO is splitting hairs. Its truely sad and pathetic, the bottom aint a fun place. It reflects on the coaching staff as well. JC, Portis, ARE...we need cleaning out of these guys, we need an attitude change...someone who going to kick a little ass....these guys seem spoiled and satisfied getting those fat f*ing checks....not quitting? please |
Re: Rookie Reaction
No, I don't think guys are quitting.

Re: Rookie Reaction
What I want to see is Mitchell starting, Williams starting at C and going out there now that they are totally pissed off and kicking some Bronco ass.

It seems to me that the positive to take away from the Falcons game was that the team could easily have quit but did not. They showed some fire. |

I agree not everybody is doing there job at 110% but as far as heart goes three players showed they wanted to win yesterday Rock, Ladell & JC!!! And lead the team to two scoring drives and JC took a beating but got back up played a good 2nd half. The defense laid down and let Turner have a field day. |

If there is any positives this is it. At half time while reflecting on the first half woe's I couldn't help but think that if I was the coach I most likely would have handed the head set off to someone else and either walked out which most likely would have gotten me fined, or handed off the head set and sat on the bench and worked with JC and looked at the pictures sent down from above. LOL. I know, I know, that's why I'm not coaching but I was embarrassed for the team. I was going to change the channel after half time but noticed the Skins getting the ball after the half. Then and only then did I see any kind of fire which kept me watching the game. Some where in there it donned on me that the Falcons already had 20 something points and we were screwed but it was nice to see some emotion from the team. |
Re: Rookie Reaction
its definitely good for Orakpo to have that attitude....no one should ever accept losing.
