Eloi signed; will be back for OTA's in June

And as the link title mentions, Atterberry (P) was cut as to be expected after we signed Hunter Smith. There was already a thread about it, though not clearly titled:

Oh, and as a side note, apparently Kelly has been practicing, they haven't had him doing long stuff, but he is hitting cuts

Zorn On Malcolm Kelly:

"Malcolm has come on. I think each day he's done a little bit more. So he's showed that he's bursting off the line of scrimmage now. We're keeping him from doing some of the extended routes and things like that, but some of the quicker things, the quick cuts, the little accelerations he's doing, and he's catching a ton of balls. So as he progresses, I think he'll be much more ready for those [June] OTAs like we're hoping. It's looking like he's gonna be that way."

There are some other player notes on that blog entry as well, such as for Colt, Dorsey, etc

edit: seems as if Matty covered this in post 2 of this thread as well:

Devin Thomas Ready for a Breakout Year?

"You're going to see Devin Thomas make plays. You're going to see more deep passes, across the middle, breaking tackles, doing whatever I do. It's going to be every game - not a one-time thing. I already see the dance [after his first touchdown catch]. I see it happening real early, hopefully the first game."

Very good to hear from him, lets hope he makes it happen.

If he produces, and his attitude "helps" him produce bigger, i'm cool w/ his 3rd person references...kind of funny to me.

SBXVII likes what he hears about our young WR's from last yr. SBXVII also likes Eloi it will be interesting if he actually come out and shines. SBXVII thinks Eloi could be the "it" one day as long as he keeps his nose clean and plays well. lol.

Also my man crush for the pediphile Mix has been replaced with Eloi at the WR position. I still hold out hope for Mason. lol.

No kidding, whatever it takes I guess.

In all seriousness though, I don't think seeing the ball was as much a problem for DT as getting himself in the right place to receive the ball.

Yeah even lesser informed fans could tell his set was extremely limited with our offense. He didn't seem to have a great array of routes he had mastered and then when he did finally get on the field too many penalties.

Why? it almost worked for Bob Dole.

Yeah, its weird, but at least he's confident. I can't imagine he would be so bold if he didn't feel that this was his year. I mean did he talk himself up last year? Whether or not he can live up to his claim is debatable, but at very least you gotta figure he's in better shape.

Re: Eloi signed; will be back for OTA's in June

If you wanna be a great WR you should emulate the greats who came before you - and most great WR's talk like Leon from those Budweiser commercials. So I'm glad to see DT maturing into his position off the field as well as on.
