Lets overpay for Jared Allen
why has no body mentioned this guy. I think he may be the best free agent out there this off season and DE is definiely one of if not our biggest need. If were going to over pay for someone lets make it him.
(obviously i dont want to overpay for anybody, but with snyder and cerrato you know its going to happen so make it worth it) |
Re: Lets overpay for Jared Allen

Re: Lets overpay for Jared Allen
He's no Justin Smith :)
Seriously though, very talented but I know several teams have some concerns about the fact that he's been arrested something like four times in the last thre years for DUI, and he's been suspended by the league once (even though it was reduced from 4 games to 2) |

I just have a great feeling about him |
Re: Lets overpay for Jared Allen
with bagage like that we should get him for a deal
|
Re: Lets overpay for Jared Allen
the skins are talking as if they would like to get an interior lineman, that's good at rushing the qb, instead of a end.

Yeah, I've got mixed feeling about that. I hear what they're saying about Marcus Washington and Chris Wilson together being effective pass rushers. But why not just get one guy who can do that? And I thought they were pretty content with Montgomery and Golston's progress. Of course, if they get a DE I don't think he should be a pass-rushing specialist like Wilson. He needs to be able to play the run effectively as well. |
Re: Lets overpay for Jared Allen
Jared Allen makes our line among the best in the nfl. With that said, there is no chance we get him, the chiefs have already let the world know that he will absolutely be franchised. If he was not, he would get 12 to 15 million a year.

Re: Lets overpay for Jared Allen
If we're gona break the bank for an interior lineman then why not go after Corey Williams from Green Bay.. He hasn't been franchise tagged and he had i think 8 sacks this year? Which is sick for being a DT. Imagine our DT rotation with corey williams lined up wit montgomery and cornelious coming in on passing situations

Re: Lets overpay for Jared Allen
at DT rod coleman could give us a couple decent years as a band aid till we can get around to drafting a guy.

Re: Lets overpay for Jared Allen
Funny how it's ok to overpay for certain guys.

He's a very hard worker, but in the end isn't big enough, strong enough, or quick enough to be a front-line starter in the NFL. He's a good 3rd DT, good in a rotation. But if he were a full time starter I wouldn't feel great about the interior line. Montgomery has the size and quickness to be force. But with Griffin getting older, I can see the logic for wanting a young DT. |
