OK, I admit it.. I was WRONG, but don't tell my wife PLEASE
OK, in all of the prediction threads, I insisted the team this year would be lucky to see 8-8... and even half way through the season, I looked to be right....well....
They kicked the crap out of the team that everyone has been saying will rep the NFC in the Super Bowl & they did it against the starters. Go ahead, let me have it: :spank: |

It takes a big man to admit when he's wrong

agreed. I read a lot of posts at the mid point. we're doomed, we're done, there goes the season. Fire Joe. All of those folks are now posting in the Joe must stay thread. I hope they will weigh in on this "I was wrong" thread as well

I don't give crap to anyone who owns up and eats crow. Way to man up!

Re: OK, I admit it.. I was WRONG, but don't tell my wife PLEASE
Can I join the bandwagon and admit I predicted 7-9?
Heck, we were 5-11 last year and had a young QB... I also started to doubt Gibbs before Sean Taylor died... Boy was I wrong. This coaching staff is really showing their experience now. Gibbs 2 is solid folks! |
Re: OK, I admit it.. I was WRONG, but don't tell my wife PLEASE
I think I predicted an 8-8 season too, although I said they'd go to the playoffs with a 9-7 record about a month ago.

Me too. I mailed it in at 5-7; thought we were done, and I said so. In the post about next year's draft, I was among those who said the season was over. I love being wrong, I ****ing love it!

Re: OK, I admit it.. I was WRONG, but don't tell my wife PLEASE
I predicted 10-6.
Should I be disappointed? ;) |
Re: OK, I admit it.. I was WRONG, but don't tell my wife PLEASE
I was very wrong as well..i said no way we'd make the playoffs. glad i was wrong.

Re: OK, I admit it.. I was WRONG, but don't tell my wife PLEASE
I was wrong too...glad no one took that bet I laid out when we were 5-7. Hail and cheers! Got to give a shoutout to Saunders, his play calling has been money the past 4 games.

8-8 +/- 2... safest bet ever :P
I think I predicted an 8-8 season too, although I said they'd go to the playoffs with a 9-7 record about a month ago.
I predicted 9-7 after our 5-5 start, and said that our tiebreaker advantage would put us in the playoffs. Probably my best prediction was saying that Detroit would finish no better than 9-7 way back when they were 6-2. They were perhaps the biggest frauds in the NFL after that fast start.
I predicted 10-6.
Should I be disappointed? ;)
Yea thats what i was thinking.... I predicted 11-5. |
Re: OK, I admit it.. I was WRONG, but don't tell my wife PLEASE
Not to toot my own horn, but I was also one of the ones who predicted 9-7 for this team, though it sure seemed like that was a pipe dream after that heartbreaker in Buffalo.
I recall a stat I saw after we started 2-0 that showed the percentage chance of making the playoffs for teams that finished 9-7 and it was quite high, something like 60-70%? Knowing that 9-7 was "just" playing .500 ball after a 2-0 start, I felt like it was something we could accomplish with this team, I just thought a couple of the wins would have come against different opponents: I figured we'd lose to Minny and beat Buffalo, for example. All things considered, I'm much happier peaking now with everything that's happened. We owe Seattle some payback from two years ago (I still haven't forgotten that assclown kicker of theirs talking smack about us), and I think we have a real chance to make some noise in the NFC playoffs. The entire NFC may be just an appetizer for the Patriots at this point, but I don't think there is any team in the NFC playoffs that I'm really truly afraid of if we continue to stay healthy and roll the way we our right now... |
Re: OK, I admit it.. I was WRONG, but don't tell my wife PLEASE
ok i admit i was wrong about al saunders i said i'd like to send him and his 700 page playbook back to kansas city. sometimes the only reason i open my mouth is to change feet. once collins started taking the snaps the whole playbook opened up. sorry al my bad...
