Alien vs. Predator

Are you pumped to see it or no?

I hope it lives up to the hype.

SmootSmack 08-08-2004 01:15 AM

Predator

But honestly, I'm looking more forward to Batman vs. Superman

skinsfanthru&thru 08-08-2004 01:32 AM

we've had to watch the trailers for it several times a day at work and yet the more I see them the more I want to see the movie. And I didn't really have much hope for it cuz its being directed by anderson who screwed up resident evil and the movie only has one or 2 decent actors in it.

I 2 would love to see that but Warner Bros is kinda worried about how they could do the movie and not have one of their franchises be the loser and what not.

SKINSnCANES 08-08-2004 04:14 PM

are they making batrman vs superman?

how could batman acutally beat superman, I dont think that movie would be that good. Superman catn be hurt unless that underground cave batman has happens to be made on a kryptonite mine...

Im going to vote for predator, he was awesome. First rated r movie i ever saw. Im not even sure if ive ever seen teh alien movies, just some clips of it I beleive.

You know what the best scifi movie is though, Howard the Duck. Tell me that wasnt awesome, lol!!!

I think it's scheduled for a summer 2005 (at the earliest) release. From what I've heard the premise is something like Batman and Superman are pitted against each other when Batman is led to believe that Superman had something to do with the death of his girlfriend. I'm guessing maybe Bruce Wayne's girl?

Anyway, at the end neither wins or loses but they unite somehow to fight The Joker and Lex Luthor

hmm, interesting... I think they are starting to go overboard on all these comic movies. They are all big budgets, so the effects can be cool. But im alsmot getting tired of them. i wish theyd come up with some new ideas. They arent as good when you get a new comic movie every two months...Plus if they all start having sequels...I think it takes away from what they were.

:offtopic: as shootoff to this thread, I mentioned that predator was my first rated R movie I saw, followed by the Running man. What was the first rated R movie that you saw?

SKINSnCANES 08-08-2004 05:51 PM

why didnt my offtopic picture show up right? I selected it from the pic options, but it comes up looking like that. it says :offtopic: in my thread?

first two R movies were apocalypse now (which is just about the best movie EVER), and terminator (which is also really good, and the science isn't too horrible either really)...

from everything I've read thats been canned since they're starting the batman series over again and there will be a new superman movie coming out in a couple years being directed by Bryan Singer who did the X-Men movies.

skinsfanthru&thru 08-09-2004 01:28 AM

I started off with a non-violent R movie but an awesome movie none the less with Tom Hank's Bachelor Party. I think I was 8 or 9 and I remember that was the first time I'd seen nudity in a movie. That is still one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. then it was either the terminator or predator, I can't remember.

SmootSmack 08-09-2004 01:50 AM

I can't remember which was my first R rated movie. But I do remember being around 13 years old, in Puerto Rico, and going to the movies with my older brother and cousin and their friends. And them getting me into the theater by pretending that I was the precocious lead singer of some up and coming family singing group, and we were about to kick off a world tour the next day, and if they let me in we'd be sure to promote their theater in tv interviews, so on and so forth. This one guy did all the talking, just talking out of his ass basically.

The funny thing is some pre-teen and teen girls heard us making up this ridiculous story and actually believed us so they kept coming up to us during the movie wanting to talk to us and get autographs. Then afterward, they wanted us to pose for pictures with them.

And that's my memory of the first R rated movie I ever saw, whatever it was called.

NM Redskin 08-09-2004 05:08 AM

I think AVP will be good. With all those comic books written theirs got to be a good story. First R-rated movie I saw was The Road Warrior, then the next week Conan the Barbarian. It was the old, tell your parents that your going to a see PG movie and sneak into the rated R movie.
