This is what I was talking about in the playbook forum. I like threads like this one that bring something that was brought up on a tangent in another thread to the forefront, I would have never read this if not for Ocliw.

This thread is fine and I wouldn't close or delete it.

Smoot put the same link in the Landry turned loose thread. I overlooked it.

I dont think that hit really warranted a game check, I dont want our players having to think twice before issuing some punishment. Hopefully DS pays this one, Landry puts fear in our opponents

I don't have a problem with the fine, he put his head down at the last second which he didn't need to do.

He's already said that it won't change the way he plays so I wouldn't worry about it.

I did think of putting it in its own thread as well. But I figured I was putting it sort of as a response to someone (Buster maybe) saying he had to watch the helmet to helmet.

Just asking but isn't it still an illegal hit even if he would have kept his head up but still hit helmet to helmet?

Yeah probably, especially since it was a hit on a QB.

I think he could have avoided all helmet contact if he just kept his head up.

Re: Redskins' Landry and Eagles' Ramsey fined for unnecessary roughness

Ramsey's hit looked worse to me because it seemed as if took he the shot as a premeditated act.

Landry's did not seem premeditated but it was an illegal helmet to helmet hit and he was launched in the air to make the hit.

Both fines are justifiable...
