Next On Deck: The Packers.
I'm a little thread-happy this morning:) I couldn't wait until Tuesday or Friday to really start talking about the Green Bay game.
I'll leave a "keys to the game" thread to someone else, but the prospect of going 4-1 has me giddy! Did that sound gay? Anyway, I really feel like we can pull this one off. So here are my 5 keys to the game. j/k Honestly, more of the same from the Lion's game and we'll be fine. For some reason, I don't see us having an emotional let down for this one. Maybe if we're coming off a victory from a team like New England I would be a little suspicious, but I think the guys will be ready to roll at Green Bay. The Packer's defense is better than Detroit's, but we match up pretty well against them too. This is really going to be a long, long week. So glad it's a one o'clock kick off!! I'll throw out one key to the game: Derrick Frost. He's been pretty close to lights out, if you ask me. If we can keep them on a long field, I like our chances of forcing Favre into some "gutsy" mistakes. |
Re: Next On Deck: The Packers.
I think our secondary matches up VERY well against the Packers. If our front 4 can maintain pressure, we can possibly see another performance like yesterday as I do think our back 4 are among the leagues best.

Re: Next On Deck: The Packers.
Lots of pressure on Favre and the interceptions will start to pile up :o) However you can bet Green Bay will put up more than 3pts
|
Re: Next On Deck: The Packers.
Ok, My first key to the game is to make them one-dimensional like we did against the Lions. Keep Brett Favre throwing, he is bound to throw one to us like he did with the Bears.

To a man, if you asked us whether Detroit will put up more than 3 points Sunday, we would have looked at you like you were crazy. I think the Packers probably will put up a touch or two. |
Re: Next On Deck: The Packers.
when james jones catches the ball......STRIP IT!!!

Re: Next On Deck: The Packers.
The difference is that the Lions don't run, and the Packers can't run consistently. We will have to pay attention to the run more in Lambeau than we did last week, because the Packers will at least try to run the ball.

Re: Next On Deck: The Packers.
You ARE a little thread happy today 12th.
I'm a happy man myself, and looking forward to spanking the Pack. Keys???????? What's the deal with injuries to Randle El, and Santana?? I would not look forward to playing the Pack without them. I will look forward to Carlos, ST, and the boys collecting several of Brett's "Competative fire" int's!!!!!!! |
Re: Next On Deck: The Packers.
I believe if our defense can play the pass as well as we did against the Lions we will have another great game. Green Bay can barely run the ball so our safeties won't have to worry to much about play action and they can hang back and do their thing.

Re: Next On Deck: The Packers.
For us to win, we need to play defense, as that is Green Bay's biggest threat. We are a better all around team, and could be undefeted. I like our offense vs their D and it will be a good game

Re: Next On Deck: The Packers.
I like the fact that they seem to struggle running the ball. They had a few solid gashes last night against a dinged up Bears D, but overall it has been all Favre. They are a much better team than Detroit, and Lambeau is a tough place to play. I'm just glad it's early October and not late December. Otherwise it would be REALLY tough. I'm psyched for this one. Favre is my favorite football player, maybe my favorite sports figure, of all time. I know, I know, he's not a Redskin, but I've always loved the guy. He pretty much cemented it when he threw for 399 and 4 TD's the day after his father died suddenly (2003). I can't wait. Sorry Brett, but I hope you don't play too well in this one.

Re: Next On Deck: The Packers.
GB's defense gives up big games to tight ends, so look for Cooley to have a big game (especially if our top two wides are out).
|
Re: Next On Deck: The Packers.
We can't allow Brett Favre to get on a hot streak. He's had our number the last few times he's played us. It's certainly going to be a big test for us.

Re: Next On Deck: The Packers.
I think the biggest test this game will be on will be our corners. They handled Detriot great, but Green Bay runs a lot of quick slant routes and screens and I wonder how our linebackers and corners will handle that. The good thing is Green Bay has pretty small receivers, so we shouldn't have a size issue.

They're going to try, but do they even have a healthy RB anybody should be afraid of? Vernand Morency? A gimpy Brandon Jackson (averaging 30 yards a game)? DeShawn Wynn? Yeah, I didn't think so, either. |
