What's a "win" for this first preseason game?

1) No injuries
2) A touchdown drive led by Jason Campbell
3) 3.0 ypc against the 1st team D
4) Two turnovers forced
5) No injuries

Hahahaha....nice.

I'd would say a win would be the 1st team D showing they can stop the run, get pressure and not let QB's make it rain over our secondary. On the other side of the ball, I would say that JC leading a TD drive, completing some medium/deep passes and showing some repoire with the WR's.

Oh, and Smoot picking VY. That would make me consider the game a win.

I'm going to go w/#1 only. All the rest is gravy at this point.

I get the impression that Gibbs' strategy this preseason is to bring them along slowly in the physical aspects. I don't expect a lot of rust in this first game, but I don't expect any of the starting units to be very sharp either. By the 3rd & 4th game of preseason I expect to see a different team.

Playing well. I dont even care if we play better than the Titans or not, as long as we seem like we're playing well and somewhat smooth and progressing, I'll be happy, its only our 1st preseason game....Last year it was very clear that we were not on the same page....If we even stay even with Tennesee with our starters and our depth plays ok, I'll be fine with that. I wont read seriously into anything til the Pittsburgh/Baltimore games...but if its clear we're not playing well, I will not be happy.

A win is Jason Campbell continues on his journey to become a franchise QB. You have to have an elite player at that position in today's NFL. IMO.

#5 is the top definitely the top "win" for this first game.

Here's my short list:
-Having the D-line soundly stop the run would be a pleasant surprise.
-Two bomb throws by JC to Lloyd and ARE would be comforting.
-INT return for a TD by Smoot will be welcomed.
-My 2 year old singing "Hail To The Redskins" without missing any words would bring tears to my eyes.

I don't know about that. Last preseason, we heard excuse after excuse as to why the Skins looked like poop. We know how that turned out.

Some teams can look real good in exhibition. Pittsburgh and Dallas looked pretty sharp in their first preseason games. Why can't we for a change?

1. No Injuries
2. Players playing well, minimal mistakes for the rookies and progress for Campbell, McIntosh
3. A win

Well two years ago the Colts went 0-5, but started out 13-0. Some teams like the Redskins need to win in the preseason to build confidence, but some teams like the Colts don't have to prove anything in the preseason because they know they are already good.
