Craiglist is AMAZING
 

My wife finally agreed to sell her old car. I posted in on Craiglist.com and my phone started ringing off the hook within 5 minutes. An hour and a half later, we sold the car. 98 Honda Civic.... we were asking 3500 and it went for 3000 that fast.

Yeah, craigslist is a great way to get exposure. I put a car on there, and I got a call within 30 mins, and in an hour I was showing it. I didn't actually sell the car, but for free advertisement, it was pretty good.

We got so many calls that we could not answer our phone. My wife returned calls on her cell, I returned calls on mine. We actually had a race of people to get here to buy the car. First who saw it, bought the car. That happened just as second people arrived. I also had 2 calls offering to buy sight unseen.... we didn't take those offers because we already had people driving up.

If demand was so high why did you lower your asking price?

Because we expected to get 1500-2000 from carmax... and it was the right thing to do.

lol.... well, if you think I did the wrong thing, you can give me 500..... we walked away with more than we thought we would, and didn't have to show the car to 20 people. The girl that bought it is a medical student, so hopefully she will remember me when she is treating me when I am in the nursing home.

I agree with you. I just wish compaines like BGE, Exxon, etc... thought that way.

Well, I am lucky enough to not have to answer to stock holders the way those companies do.
