Daunte Culpepper issues statement, damage control on health.

So you have it right from the horses mouth, he's right on track....lol
What a gamble for the Traiders or any other team to pick this guy up now.

I think his best years have been left behind in Minnesota.

We should all be rooting for this since Oakland drafting CJ is the best thing that could happen to us. I for one am willing to speak with Al Davis personally to assure him of Culpepper's progress.

He's only 30 years old and the last healthy year he had, he had a career year, and a season that was one of the best of all time. 4717 yards, 39 passing td's and 11 ints. Also, he had a 69.2 comp%. You can't fluke that. Think it was all Moss? Think again, Burlson was his best wr, and Moss only had 49 catches for 767 yards. They had no consistant running game either...Onterio Smith led the team with 544 yards. That's horrible.

There was a lot of thought that McNabb wasn't going to return to form either, but he did.

EXACTLY. Plus I like Daunte's game. I don't like to see any player cut down by injury in their prime. Remember this guy threw 39 TDs just two seasons ago. I hope he does come back strong.

Because it will increase the chances of Brady Quinn being there at the 6th pick, which will increase our chances of trading down out of that pick...

McNabb return to form since when? DC is washed up.

Did you not happen to notice how amazing he played before his injury? Cause the rest of the country did.

I'm missing something here...
My point was McNabb made a comeback and performed very well, so why can't Culpepper?

Remember last year when DC was starting at the start of the year it wasn't long and he was out hurt again.

Same exact reason.

IMO DC and McNabb are in the same boat. Major injuries will limit what has seperated them from quite a few QB's, there ability to be mobile.

That's a good point, but what McNabb went through is a fluke. I don't expect Culpepper to have a similar setback.
You might be right considering that Miami has been rumored to be very interested in Trent Green. WHy do that if Culpepper is your guy?

He threw those TD passes with a WR that could catch the ball wherever it was thrown. Take away that WR covering for his poor accuracy and put DC with average WRs and he's just another below average QB.
